Why Don’t He Just Move Off the Nail?
As I’ve mentioned many times, I subscribe to way too many online marketers’ newsletters. They’ll tend to take up my day as I sift through the headlines to see what’s happening in the world of internet marketing. Occasionally, someone shines through the mire with a particularly brilliant piece of prose.
Such was the case today when Tim Erway’s subject caught my eye.
mitch, get off the darned nail… the subject line read.
Tim Erway is one of the masters in “Meeting with the Masters.”
Curiously, I clicked to see what Tim had to write about this time.
I’ll simply copy and paste it here, partly because it may inspire you, and partly because I might need to be reminded of it as I embark on my own new amazing renaissance.
Today we are going to talk about…
“The Dog Sitting On A Nail”Hi mitch,
Over the weekend, I sent an email about the
virtually untapped potential of the human mind,
and how most of us become victims of
circumstance, rather than masters of our own
destinies.I read through a dozen or so responses, and
here’s what I’ve gathered:Most of us accept that we use only a small
portion of the “mind power” lying latent within
us, and that we are capable of being and doing
so much more. Now this certainly provokes an interesting
question….“If we accept we are capable of achieving so
much more, and we believe the power to do so
is within our control –– WHY in the heck don’t most of us do what is
necessary to make that quantum leap, and take
command of our lives?”http://www.meetingwiththemasters.com/sabotage-1
It reminds me of a story I’ve heard a few times
over the years…–begin story–
A man walks up to a farm house, and sitting in a
rocking chair is a farmer with his dog lying next to
him on the floor. When the man looks at the dog he notices that the
dog is whimpering in pain. The man asks the farmer
“Sir, why is your dog crying?”The farmer replies:
“Well, he’s sitting on a nail.”The man scratches his head in confusion, and asks,
“Well, why the heck don’t he just move off the
darned thing!?!”The farmer replies,
“Well, it aint hurtin’ him enough I reckon.”http://www.meetingwiththemasters.com/sabotage-1
–end story–Almost without exception, people “say” they would
like to see improvement in certain areas of their lives.Yet for many people, despite their strong desire to
make changes, they are not willing to do what is
necessary to create those changes.I guess for most people, the nail just aint hurtin’
enough yet.But what if you could have a “taste” of what kind of
life you could have, as the master of your fate, as
the sculptor of your destiny?I’d be willing to bet that nail would start getting
more and more unbearable.Go take a look at what is possible:

…and for goodness sake, get off the freaking nail!
;-)
Warmly,
Tim Erway
P.S. Stephen Pierce is offering an upgrade for
his course to the deluxe version at no additional
expense. It ends tonight, so I suggest you take
advantage of it while you can.
I’ve left his links intact, and no, they’re not my affiliate links. The program that Tim is promoting looks very worthwhile, and maybe it’s exactly what I need to finally get off that nail, but I reckon I ain’t hurtin’ enough yet.
