While My Batteries Recharge
While I was enjoying the mob at the Sawdust Festival Opening Preview Party, I was taking pictures of John’s work, and James’ work, and even of my cousin Karen Hedges‘ work, and more.
I ran out of juice and couldn’t get all the pictures I wanted to. I had a pack of batteries with me, but I had forgotten that they too, were out of juice. I can’t take enough pictures with my camera anyway, and it’s time to get a new camera. As soon as my batteries are recharged, I’ll be able to download the photos I took .
Until then, have a look at the earrings I bought for my sister,Tammy.

They’re created by an artist who works in fused glass. Her name is Siân Poeschl. I was drawn first to a small dish that evanesced in a remarkable way. The purple had a magenta highlight that changed when I moved around it. I liked the effect, and I wondered how a material could possess such a dynamic quality. Siân told me later that the space shuttle uses this particular glass for something, I can’t remember now what she said about it. But it’s beautiful nonetheless, and that’s all that matters to me anyway. So hold on, while I get my batteries and download the other pictures.
