Thanks A Lot
On this, the eve of Thanksgiving, I am attempting to compile the many things for which I’m thankful. Well, let’s see…
- I AM thankful for my mere existence, as pathetic as it might be.
- I AM thankful for my friends and family, even as out-of-touch as I may be with them all.
- I AM thankful for having a job, as frustrating, disheartening, and non-lucrative as it might be.
- I AM thankful for my health, even though it seems to be teetering on the brink half the time.
- I AM thankful that I live in a beautiful town and have a roof over my head, even though I barely meet my expenses.
- I AM thankful I made it to 50 years old, even though I hate seeing the time pass so quickly.
- I AM thankful that my brain works, even though it’s not good enough to get me out of this pathetic situation.
- I AM thankful I can spend my off-hours studying things I’m passionate about, even though I can’t seem to apply it to something more edifying.
- I AM thankful for my ability to think critically, even though it has made me too judgmental, cynical, hateful, estranged, and bitter.
- And finally, I AM thankful for my hypocritical, twisted, and positive outlook on things.
- And oh yes, I AM thankful that “intelligent design” is becoming, more and more, merely laughable.
All right, I’m sorry. I guess I’m just having a bad day. I apologize.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
